Smart Devices (Part 2)

Smart plugs, smart locks and network cameras , December, 2018

Smart home devices use your existing home Wi-Fi network or your internet connection to provide wireless control of lights, lamps, heaters, fans, and much more. Utilizing smart devices in a home office will help cut down on distractions and automate your day. You can control devices with your smart phone or a smart speaker.

A smart plug lets you turn on and off any appliance that plugs into a standard wall socket. Smart plugs allow you to add standard appliances and devices to your smart home network. You can then control attached devices with your smart phone or smart speaker.

A smart lock is an electromechanical lock that can perform locking and unlocking operations based on an encrypted transmission from your smart phone. Most smart locks will allow you to create temporary access codes so that you can allow entry to family and business associates remotely.

Other great options for your smart home or business are wireless and wired security cameras and smart doorbells. Some smart doorbells have a security camera incorporated into the doorbell as well as WiFi. This allows you to see who is requesting entrance on your smart phone either when your are home or remotely.
